Virginia Tech's 7th Annual Academic Advising Conference Invitation Letter
On behalf of Virginia Tech and the Office of Undergraduate Academic Advising, we are excited to extend to you an invitation to attend Virginia Tech's seventh annual academic advising conference, Advising Matters, to be held at The Inn at Virginia Tech on the campus of Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, March 3, 2017.
At a time when budgets and personnel are stretched thin, the Advising Matters Conference is designed to be an economical way to offer access to a quality advising professional development opportunities for advisors at Virginia Tech, the state, and region. The conference will be a one-day event including an opening session, concurrent sessions, and other activities with the goal of enhancing advising knowledge and skills for faculty and staff while also increasing effectiveness of our advising programs.
Our theme for this year is "Advising Matters: The Changing Landscape of Higher Education". This theme was selected to intentionally discuss and generate solutions to proactively address the unique challenges which may impact student academic success.
The registration fee is $75 VT affiliated, $100 non-VT affiliated. However, space is limited to the first 150 registrants. Registration will open on January 9, 2017, and will close on January 31, 2017.
