Advising Awards
The Annual Advising Awards program is designed to recognize individuals who are making significant contributions to develop and implement quality advising services to promote student development. The goals of the program are to:
- Facilitate student success
- Recognize outstanding advising
- Reward individuals who are actively engaged in delivering best practices in advising
- Foster greater awareness and support of effective advising
Advising Awards
- University Award for Excellence in Graduate Academic Advising
- University Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Academic Advising
- Outstanding Administrator Award
- Outstanding New Advisor Award
Please note, an individual who has received any one of the awards above is ineligible for another major award for a period of seven years and can receive any particular award only once.

General Procedures for Nominations
- Faculty, staff, administrators, or students will nominate individuals for either an Advising Award or the Career Advising Award.
- To encourage participation, nominators need only submit a nomination to put someone into consideration. Nominations include Nominee Information, Award Type, and Nominator Information.
- After an advisor is nominated and the nomination has been reviewed, the nominee’s supervisor will receive an automatic email from our awards system encouraging them to oversee submission of a dossier. The nominee will be copied on this email.
